HR∓A Advisors is an industry-leading real estate, economic development and energy efficiency consulting firm with offices in NY, LA and DC. I was hired by Greenhood & Co. to develop user interface / user experience designs, work on general design, and add content.

With numerous partners, areas of expertise, and the firm’s global reach, this was a complex project to bring to life online. Much of their business is detail & process oriented, not necessarily a “final product” that one can observe. Yet, much of the process involves working with architects, designers and planners, so their is a tangible visual element.

The site needed to showcase a wide range of work, a multitude of ideas and projects, be easily editable, showcase killer renderings and photography, and essentially give a modern, easy to navigate feel to an established firm.

The complexity of this project led to a very involved strategic planning section before a line of code was written. People often times underestimate the complexity of the logic involved in creating excellent user experience.

In HR&A’s case, the firm needed to convey a lot of information, and have it organized in a way that allowed for multiple points of entry. The sheer number of circumstances and use cases that had to be considered was staggering. In the end, no rock was left unturned and the site came out amazing.
